बेट्टी हीमान (Betty Heimann; 29 मार्च 1888 हैम्बर्ग -- 19 मई 1961 Sirmione/इटली) एक जर्मन भारतविद थीं। यहूदी होने के कारण वे नाजी उत्पीडन का शिकार भी हुईं।





जीवन वृत्त


बेट्टी हीमान वान्ड्सवेक/हैम्बर्ग के एक यहूदी साहूकार (बैंकर) की चौथी संतान थीं। स्कूल की शिक्षा समाप्त करने के बाद उन्होने कील (), हीडेलबर्ग, गोटिंजेन, एवं बोन्न से सांस्कृतिक भाषा-शास्त्र (फिलोलोजी) एवं संस्कृत का अध्ययन किया। १९१९ में उन्हें कील विश्वविद्यालय से डाक्टरेट की उपाधि मिली। उनका शोधपत्र उपनिषद भाष्य पर था।
