तुरतुक जम्मू और कश्मीर के लेह जिले में एक गांव है।[1][2] यह श्योक नदी के किनारे लेह शहर से 205 किमी दूर नुब्रा तहसील में स्थित है। 1971 तक तुरतुक पाकिस्तान के नियंत्रण में था,[3] जिसके बाद भारत ने इस रणनीतिक क्षेत्र पर नियंत्रण प्राप्त किया।[4] भौगोलिक दृष्टि से, तुरतुक बाल्टिस्तान क्षेत्र में स्थित है और भारत में ऐसे चार गांवों में से एक है, अन्य तीन त्याक्षी, चुलुंका और थांग (चोरबत घाटी) हैं।[5] यह मुख्य रूप से एक मुस्लिम गांव है, और निवासियों बाल्टी, लद्दाखी और उर्दू सहित भाषाओं बोलते हैं।[6] तुरतुक भारत में आखिरी चौकी है जिसके बाद पाकिस्तान नियंत्रित गिलगित-बल्तिस्तान शुरू होता है। तुरतुक सियाचिन ग्लेशियर के प्रवेश द्वारों में से एक है। तुरतुक सिल्क रुट का हिस्सा था।[7]

श्योक घाटी
2010 में पर्यटकों के लिए तुरतुक खोला गया था।[8] गांव श्योक घाटी का हिस्सा है। हालांकि एक मुस्लिम गांव, श्योक नदी के ऊपर पठार पर स्थित कुछ गोम्पा हैं और गांव में देखने के लिए एक पुराना शाही घर है। तुरतुक भारत के कुछ स्थानों में से एक है जहां कोई बाल्टी संस्कृति देख सकता है, और गांव में कुछ होमस्टे और गेस्ट हाउस मिल सकते हैं। यह आखिरी बड़ा गांव है जहां नियंत्रण रेखा से पहले पर्यटक गतिविधि की अनुमति है।
