I am writing a java program for my class but unfortunately I keep getting an out of bounds error when I run my code to this point. We are supposed to get for our professor a desired output--here I am trying to remove something from an array, but instead I always get the error.

enter image description here

while (true)
positions = keyboard.nextInt();
if (positions <= 0 && positions >= rowPositions[rowLetter - 'R'])
System.out.print("ERROR: Out of range, try again : ");
break;

if (positionsArray[rowLetter][positions] == 0)
System.out.println("ERROR: That spot is vacant.");
break;

else
System.out.print("****** Musician removed.");
System.out.println();

}
